Mental Health and the Menopause?

Guest Presenter: Beth Wood (Locality Manager and CBT Therapist)

Beth will focus on how mental health might be impacted by the menopause and how our experience of menopause might be impacted by our mental health. Anxiety and low mood are some of the most common symptoms reported by women who are experiencing menopause and the physical symptoms of menopause, such as hot flushes and sleep disturbances, can also contribute to
stress, anxiety, and depression. NICE guidelines have recently included the use of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy alongside other treatments in their recommendations of support options for those who might be struggling with their mental health during menopause. Beth will also talk about how Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can be used in this way. As usual our clinical team will be on hand to answer your questions about perimenopause and menopause in general.
